The Word of God

What's On

The Bible is God's message. It has all sorts of things to say about his plan for this earth, including his purpose for us and especially the work of his Son Jesus. Below you will find a selection of short passages from the Bible coupled with some thoughts that may help us think about the meaning of the passage and how it can impact upon us. New passaged will be added on a weekly basis.

Why Worry?

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Matthew Chapter 6 Ver 25-26 (KJV)

We all worry about things. Some of us worry a great deal about many things. In this passage, which is taken from the Sermon on the Mount, we find Jesus is trying to put our lives into context.

Resurrection from the Dead

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

1 Corinthians Chapter 15 Ver 20-22

Like it or not, it is inevitable that we all die. However, a special event took place a little over 2000 years ago. Jesus Christ, the son of God, and son of Mary rose from the dead.
